Motion Graphics Work Magic for #B2B Videos

What is it about animation that instantly captures nearly everyone’s attention? Adults, kids, corporate execs –we’ve seen it work its magic time and again.

Of course, live shoots will always be relevant, but there’s definitely a time and place where motion graphics rule the day. Here are a few of our favorites:

1. Make the complex simple to understand
Software features and benefits. New products and technology. Processes of any kind. Basically, any abstract benefit, feature, idea, or concept is a perfect candidate for motion graphics. That’s because animation can go anywhere and do anything – limited only by your imagination (and at some point, budget).

Check out how this motion graphics video quickly and memorably brings to life the benefits of Verizon’s Business Digital Voice system.

2. Get more bang for your buck
Motion graphics aren’t the right solution for every situation. But for some topics, not only are they more effective, they’re more affordable, too. Need to illustrate how your product stands up to the heat and humidity of the tropics and the frigid conditions of the North Pole? Motion graphics let you go both places for no additional charge. Plaster your company name across the New York City skyline. Turn your competitor into a talking donkey. Or not. The point is, while animation can be costly – producing the same thing in live action video is very often more expensive – if not impossible all together.

You can even combine motion graphics with existing B-roll, like we did for this Georgia Department of Economic Development spot, to really stretch your budget.

3. Grab attention when it matters most
Okay, we’ve already established that people just can’t look away from animation – which makes it a great tool for need-to-know purposes like training or public information! When you want a crowd to pay attention to vital info, motion graphics delivers.

Check out the video we created for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that spotlighted a growing safety concern among healthcare clinicians and provided a solution to help fight infection.

Think you might be interested? Here’s how the process works:

  • Week 1-2: Client input, script writing and style comps
  • Week 2-3: Storyboards
  • Week 3-4: Casting for voice talent, music, and sound effects search
  • Week 4-7: Soundtrack creation, animation begins
  • Week 7-8: Final approvals

While the average B2B motion graphics video takes 6-8 weeks from start to finish, all sorts of factors can influence the process. As you can imagine, a simple character on a solid color background is easier to animate than, say, multiple characters in a detail-rich environment. One of the many things that’s so cool about motion graphics is that a lot of those variables are totally within your control.

Got a big job with a complex message? Motion graphics just might be the answer. Reach out to Blue Marble anytime or call 404-982-9552 to talk about options.
