Practically everyone in business today knows the experience of a video shoot. For many it’s an extracurricular outing, a fun field trip that breaks up the normal routine of meetings, followed by meetings, followed by “screen time”, followed by meetings that are also “screen time”. (Sorry kids, not the kind of screen time your parents limit.) But being on a video shoot… now that’s something different.
A small team, or a battalion, of commando-like operatives move in, deftly handling super techy gear and decidedly non-techy bags of sand and metal poles. An environment is transformed and a scene is set. It can be fun to watch. (We won’t talk about the fine-tuning part.)
For the experienced crew, this is a regular day at work – a familiar mission with a hard deadline. A job where hundreds of things can go haywire, but very few do – because of preparation and anticipation. But still, no two shoots are exactly the same and stuff happens. That’s when an awesome expert team really takes care of business and accomplishes the mission… not barely, beautifully!
