Video Trend: Consumers Follow Brands Across Platforms and Formats

The Think with Google research team shared an interesting video trend a few days ago.

They discovered that the more video formats brands use to tell their story, the more likely they will be to capture consumer slice-of-mind.

Google research gathered this summer reveals that 68% of online respondents aged 18 to 44 say they enjoy the convenience of being able to watch different video formats on a single platform  – think YouTube long-form videos and shorts. Google reports that both brands and content creators are incorporating this into their strategies now.

90% of respondents say they have watched content from a particular creator across different formats in the past 12 months. Formats include short-form video, long-form video, podcasts and live streams.

Another interesting finding:  campaigns using two or more video formats were more likely to see ad recall and brand awareness than those using only one.

The plethora of screens and formats combined with this shift in behavior underlines the growing importance of video formats to reach prospects.
