How a Video Agency Partnership Helped One Company Evolve to Become Two

Five years is a long time, especially in client/agency relationships. Shifting markets, changing leadership, and an evolving world can have an impact.  

In 2019, Kindred at Home was a national health care agency that offered personal care, home care, palliative care and hospice care to its patients. In 2022, the company was fully acquired by Humana and split into two independent organizations: CenterWell Home Health and Gentiva.

So, consider the last five years for this marketing team.  They weathered a pandemic as part of the “essential workforce,” and then came through a corporate acquisition, followed by a division into separate lines of business. 

Adjusting to the organizational changes would be challenging enough, but they faced the pandemic and all of its lifestyle and economic effects too. Through it all, they consistently produced outstanding marketing and training campaigns to meet the changing needs of their organization(s).

As it happens, the Kindred at Home marketing team first hired Blue Marble in early 2019, a year before the pandemic and three years before the split into two companies.  Our first project together was a compelling client case study video that could be  shared with prospective patients and their families.

The case study was a success and, in every year since, we’ve produced multiple videos for not only the marketing team, but the internal communications team as well. Even though it wasn’t official, having a “video agency of record” style relationship eased their workload and ultimately, saved them money.

From the marketing team’s perspective (and ours), we walked the path their organization did, right beside them – through changing priorities, through remote recordings via Zoom, through the shifting requirements brought about by their acquisition. Even the review they wrote reaffirmed our connection:  “It feels less like a vendor and client relationship and more like a partnership.”

Our advice? When you find a video agency that delivers great results while still being easy and fun to work with – stick with them – even if it’s not the kind of video they’ve produced for you before.
